What began with a single family-run restaurant in East Greenwich has evolved into a dynamic collection of hospitality experiences across Rhode Island. Founded by T.J. Martucci, who grew up in the restaurant world, our company blends tradition with innovation to create memorable spaces where people come together over great food, great drinks, and even better company.
Since launching in 2012, TMG has grown from a pair of local eateries into a diverse group of restaurants, bars, and lifestyle concepts—including The Trap, SafeHouse, Besos Tapas & Wine Bar, Pasta Patch, and several new ventures on Block Island. Each location is designed with purpose, built for community, and powered by a passionate team who treats every guest like family.
From neighborhood pubs to upscale dining to coastal getaways, we’re constantly evolving—but our mission stays the same: to deliver unforgettable hospitality through creative concepts, exceptional service, and a genuine love for what we do.
T.J. purchases the property located at 195 Old Forge Road, EG, containing both Parkside Bar & Grill and Chianti’s restaurant, having his father run the on-site operations as he continues to focus on his finance career.
After several years in corporate America, T.J. decides to change the trajectory of his career by following in his father’s footsteps and becoming an entrepreneur in the restaurant industry. Through this endeavor, The Martucci Group comes to fruition.
T.J. fully renovates the interior and exterior of Chianti’s, transforming it from a traditional Italian dining look and feel into a more modern, open, and bright dining concept.
The upstairs property at 195 Old Forge Road, Parkside Bar & Grill, closes its doors and allowed for the immediate expansion of The Martucci Group with The Trap concept.
The Trap Brew Pub & Grill opens its doors upstairs, replacing Parkside Bar & Grill with a unique environment and menu that puts a twist on the traditional pub fare using interesting flavor concepts and pairings.
Chianti’s closes its doors for good so that the new concept of Safehouse could open. The legacy of Chianti’s lives on through the catering arm of The Martucci Group’s business.
Safehouse Modern Neighborhood Eatery is established to seamlessly connect The Trap brand to the downstairs restaurant. The Safehouse design was originally inspired by the ski culture of Jackson Hole Wyoming and Vermont living then infused with a contemporary influence.
Actively seeking to expand, The Martucci Group buys Besos Kitchen & Cocktails on Main Street in East Greenwich. Known currently as Besos Bistro, this sector of TMG is a scratch kitchen offering a modern approach to your favorite dishes and cocktails and enjoyed in an inviting and comfortable atmosphere.
The Martucci Group buys the Kountry Kitchen breakfast spot in Greenville, Rhode Island to bring The Trap to northern Rhode Island coming in the Spring of 2023.
Branching out to an entirely new field, The Martucci Group opens Total Media Group, an all-inclusive design, marketing, print, and mail service provider headquartered in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.
The Martucci Group buys the Old Finn’s building on Block Island with the intention of opening a variety of restaurants and unique hotel concept.
The Martucci Group buys Pasta Patch, an express gourmet deli and prepared foods experience located in East Greenwich that will align seamlessly into the organization.
The Trap North opens its doors, eager to serve Northern Rhode Island and become a local hotspot for live music, private events, drink specials and more.
The 212 makes a bold debut with four fresh concepts: Block Island Bunk House, OneBI Steak & Oyster House, Block Island Clam Cake Company, and a second home for Pasta Patch Prepared Foods & Deli. With excitement and vision, The 212’s first summer marks the beginning of a new era on Block Island.
